There is a bewildering amount of information out there these days on how to improvise, yet many students are frustrated because they feel they still can't seem to make "sense" when they improvise. I struggled with this too,  but found an approach which helped me play more melodically and negotiate chord changes much better,

My jazz improvisation lessons include:

  • Jazz trumpet techniques

  • Learning basic chord structures

  • Time feel and using a metronome effectively

  • Using basic triads to improvise

  • Be-Bop language

  • Modal approches to improvisation

  • Pentatonic scale use

  • How to learn tunes and chord sequences

  • Ear training and transcribing techniques
