Many of my students have the same objectives with their playing. One of things I place great importance on is learning to pratice and play efficiently. My trumpet lessons are very much adapted to each student, but generally include:
-
trouble shooting problems with pitch and sound production
-
improving sound production, articulation and attacks
-
right hand technique
-
efficient use of practice time
-
improving range and stamina
-
breathing
-
equipment advice
-
cognitive techniques
The last one is very important as one of the obstacles to progress is an inability to apply understood concepts to our playing. This is where a change of mindset is needed, so we can change habits that we may have had for many years. I have helped many of my students"change their minds" to become better players.
